If you fancy a change of scene, the national walking trail of Glyndwr's Way starts right from your door for wild walks through rolling farmland, woodland, and forests. Try out the fairways of Welshpool Golf Course (half-an-hour drive). Or, a smidge further, there's bird watching and sailing to be enjoyed at Lake Vyrnwy.

When tummies start to rumble, head back home for alfresco barbecues with those knockout panoramas. Or on chiller evenings, get together for a memorable evening meal in the atmospheric dining room – there's room for all eight of you and a few guests. Then all that's left to do is spill out into the living area to curl up on those tweed-clad storybook armchairs and get your glow on beside the traditional inglenook fireplace.
