Overlooking Whitby’s harbour, you can watch the fishing boats chug in and out from the windows of this cosy little cottage. A traditional fishing cottage has been elevated to a beautiful bolthole, a five-minute stroll from harbourside pubs and restaurants and the winding old centre of Whitby. Ten minutes sees you at the pier, lined with amusements and seafood shacks, and the beginning of the town’s long stretch of beach. The home’s decor in teal and turquoise is a reminder of your seaside locale and nautical trinkets dot the rooms. The kitchen is particularly spacious, for a cottage, in cheerful duck-egg blue. The real prize here is the private walled garden out the back, bursting with flora and with dining for four set up by the rockery.
Home truths: * Pets are welcome, but check in with the host first as they prefer to host small-medium dogs
* The second bedroom (with the twin beds) has a lower ceiling - so mind your head
*On-street parking is available nearby on a first-come, first-serve basis but you're in the centre of town here so a car is not necessary
*There are steps leading to the cottage so this place may not be suitable for those with limited mobility
