The Grade II listed building was built as a farmhouse in the early 19th century and has since become a haven for those looking for some peace and quiet. It’s full of traditional touches, from the exposed beams and roll-top bath to the slate fireplace and wood-burning stove in the old hearth. On arrival, a welcome pack of tea, coffee and local treats awaits in the country-style kitchen. Outside the view takes centre stage, with the green fields giving way to rugged peaks. Savour that panorama with a drink at the picnic area. Hikers and walkers will be glad to know that Snowdonia’s epic landscapes are on your doorstep, as you’re in the south of the sprawling National Park. There are trails suitable for seasoned pros and newbies alike. The golden beach of Abermaw in Barmouth is also close by (a twenty-minute drive) for those fancying some sea air. When you’re craving sustenance, stroll into nearby Dolgellau (less than 2 miles away) for some drinks and tasty pub grub.

*There's a working wood-burning stove in the main living room but the fireplace in the parlour is purely ornamental
*A generous amount of starter logs are provided and more can be purchased at £5 a basket
*Cots, high chairs and stair gates can be provided for infants
