The Meadow Pipit Self-Catering
Part of a 300-year-old farm building, this cosy cottage enjoys unrivalled views over the Brecon Beacons. Inside, the timber-beamed A-frame ceiling and Welsh dragon sigil feel as though you’re in a medieval merchant’s hall. The thick stone walls that have stood for centuries are on display in the open-plan living area. Here you’ll find a country-style kitchen tucked beneath the eaves, with mod cons a far cry from 18th-century living. Vaulted floor-to-ceiling windows let the view come to you, best enjoyed from the plush leather sofas. Outside, you can enjoy that unending view of the Brecon Beacons from the patio while dining on something in the fresh air. Sitting out here, you’ll notice how secluded this spot it, with just the sound of birds to accompany your cup of tea. But it’s just a ten-minute drive to the shops and cafés of Brecon town should you crave civilisation.
