This magnificent Regency home will take you back in time the moment you catch sight of it up the drive. With twenty-two acres of grounds, grand reception rooms, and fabulous antique furniture, it’s hard to know which part to explore first. It's got all the period features you could hope for – fireplaces, tall sash windows, wood paneling, and a traditional kitchen – but it's been smartly modernized. The drawing room is the perfect venue for pre-dinner drinks (or move outside to the terrace if you're lucky with the weather) and, as well as the farmhouse table in the kitchen, there's an impressive dining room for more formal meals. There's a pretty library where you can curl up in front of the fire and elegant bedrooms to retire to at the end of the day. Escape into the grounds for a wander around the lake, play mixed doubles on the tennis court, and let the kids play hide and seek in the orchard. Pick fresh fruit and vegetables and enjoy the scent of the flowers grown in the walled garden. The glorious grounds are almost enough to keep you at home each day but there's so much to explore on your doorstep. The sandy beaches of Newquay are just a ten-minute drive away, while you can be dining out in fashionable Padstow in half an hour. Here you're also able to book two additional homes on the grounds, which can host up to thirty people, making it ideal for a large gathering.
Home truths: *There are two other homes on the estate, which you can book separately
*Four people will be sleeping on bunk beds
*Because of the thick walls, the broadband is patchy as you get further from the router
*You'll need a car to get around and there is plenty of private parking here
*Host can provide high chairs and a cot, but bedding will need to be provided by the guest for the cot
