Self-Catering Reviews

June 2019
First Eamonn our landlord was lovely.. We'd booked via a 3rd party and the joining instructions got a little lost in translation i.e. we didn't know he expected us by 6 and arrived later. It was not a problem, he left a key and popped into see us the next day. The cottage is lovely, the beds comfy and the kitchen has all you need. It's not luxurious but much more than adequate. Worth knowing that there are no left over supplies in the kitchen e.g salt and pepper or the like which you sometimes find but you do get a welcome pack with scones, tea, coffee, bread, jam, sugar and milk. We didn't know and brought our own. The Dolmen at the back is interesting and the donkeys you have to pass friendly. We did get a few visitors walking past the property to visit the site but it wasn't a problem. The bar opposite is friendly enough and the Guiness fine. It says it does food but we didn't see any evidence. Maybe its just at weekends or at high season. We went in early June. The cottage is well sited in so much as you can get to some truly beautiful sites in a short drive. You do the need a car though. Portnoo and Narin are around the corner and really nice. They offer a couple of eating options but only the golf course was open when we were there, that was nice btw, the others were not open until Thursday. A little further afield you can see slieve league an absolute must but most of the coast and drives are brilliant.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cromlech Cottage.. The house was well equipped and lovely. It was also in a very convenient location next to a playground, The Dolmen center and a pub (The Tavern). We explored several beautiful beaches in the area in addition to many publicized attractions like Slieve League. The property manager provided several great options for attractions as well as food. The locals were also very helpful and friendly. We hope to return soon.

We spent a wonderful Easter holiday in Ireland. It was a very pleasant environment in which we were provided with all comforts, and was very neat and clean. The owner was very helpful. We therefore recommend a holiday to everyone in this beautiful house from which one could admire an ancient Dolmen surrounded by the beautiful meadows of Ireland.

It was a lovely wee cottage, very comfortable and refurbished to a high standard. In a good location with a pub within walking distance. It was close to Naran beach which is lovely. The owner was very welcoming, would go back and would recommend to others. We had a great time, even though the weather wasn't so good.
