The self-catering accommodation at Staunton is a three-bedroom bungalow. Located just outside Athenry Town and about 20 minutes from Galway City. The house can comfortably sleep up to seven people, making it a great choice for groups and families exploring the region.

The house sits on its own grounds with a big garden and parking area. It features wooden floors throughout and all modern conveniences. There is also a cot available on request.

In Athenry, visitors can explore medieval architecture, as the town is home to a restored Norman castle, the Medieval Parish Church of St Mary's, a Dominican priory and more. Popular local activities include golf, horse riding and touring highlights like Connemara, the Burren and Cliffs of Moher.

Go through arch at end of town and take the Monee rd for 2 miles. Turn right for Newcastle. After 1.5 miles, take Bengarie rd. Watch out for sign on stone at end of road. Staunton is second house on the right.

We had a wonderful time at the Staunton house. It was beautiful and spotless. We highly recommend this house for your vacation. We loved the small town of Athenry. It was a convenient place to travel from. We enjoyed the train into Galway. We can't wait to go back again.

This self-catering home was absolutely beautiful. We felt very at home while staying there. The surrounding area was agricultural as well as historical. It was very peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to areas that we wanted to visit. Athenry village has a huge amount of potential for attracting future visitors, if done properly. I would suggest having the large amount of traffic in the town center diverted away and create a parking area near the Joyce's shopping center vicinity. It would be good to have shuttle buses transport people into and out of the center. Athenry center is small enough to allow pedestrians to walk around and explore the various shops, restaurants and historical sights without the interferance of traffic and parking issues. I hope that they preserve the historical and architectural features of their town. The original character of their village is still quite evident and reflects the Irish culture.
