Looking like it stepped out of a children's fairytale, this charming stone cottage has plenty of rustic character and the leafy green garden – complete with table tennis and playset – makes it all the more attractive. Though it has undergone restorations, many of the traditional features, like the wooden beams, remain, and taller guests might not get on with the sloping ceiling of the third bedroom, but it's perfect for kids. And speaking of, the private pool is fenced off so little ones can enjoy the garden safely. The Dordogne is twenty minutes away, and we recommend a trip on one of the traditional 'gabarre' boats.
