And when you're living on a street called Boulevard de la Plage, you can imagine that there might be a beach in sight. A five-minute stroll from the beachfront of Grande Plage de Carnac, this modern studio is the perfect base for your seaside stay. Set in a mid-century block of flats, the understated exteriors don’t give away much about what you’ll find inside. Elegant and sophisticated, your living space features wooden floors, cabinets, and a wicker lampshade which bring a certain warmth to this cosy space. With your own little private balcony, alfresco dining is certainly on the cards. Break into a fresh baguette with a few slices of Saint-Paulin cheese (a Breton favourite) and olive oil as you plan the afternoon ahead. If you’ve eaten too much for watersports and swimming on the beach, take a seven-minute drive to the Carnac Stones – these granite megaliths date as far back as 4500 BC.
