Close to the edge of Hampstead Heath, this three-storied mews house is a modish retreat from the city that surrounds it. We love the inclusion of a terrace, perfect for morning coffees – although with a lack of seating, it's best visited in short bursts. The large kitchen will satisfy any cooks among your guests, and for everyone else, there is the usual plethora of London pubs just a short stroll away. Need to travel further afield? Gospel Oak tube station is around a five-minute walk from your doorstep.
Home truths: *There’s free parking here, a rarity for the area. However, we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible. That said, we think the best way to see the city is on foot.
*Your host can provide baby cots and high chairs, although guests are required to bring their own mattresses and linen.
*The terrace and garden don't have much furniture, meaning they're not suitable for alfresco dining.
*This home is over three floors. It might not be the best option for those with reduced mobility.
