It was a great location and cottage bigger than expected ---it was lovely.. We were fortunate with the dry weather apart from one day but a great cupboard to dry off jackets etc.Great for walks from the doorstep and further up to Glen Doll etc

We wanted a quiet, relaxing holiday and Rottal Bothy provided exactly that.. The Bothy itself was a charming place with everything we needed. It was very comfortable and clean. The fact that there is no phone signal was a bonus for us. During our stay we managed to visit Dundee, Forfar and Aberdeen, all places we'd heard of but never been to. We also had a couple of days when the car didn't move and everything we needed was at the Bothy. Our daily walks with our dog, were delightful and meant we saw every kind of wildlife in the area. The information stated it was on a working farm, so we expected a lot of people and machinery around but in the event there was one tractor and few people, all of whom were lovely. Friendly but not intrusive. We could just hear the nearby forestry work but it couldn't be classed as 'noisy'. Would we recommend Rottal Bothy? Absolutely!

A lovely location, and generally speaking a very good cottage - bothy! The beds were very comfortable, and actually they were the reason we chose this cottage..... large twin beds making a 6 foot double - perfect. The problem with many of your properties is the size of the double bed - we reject them immediately - please tell your clients to provide at least 5 foot, ideally twin zips as at Rottal. Equipment provided in kitchen was rather sparse for example, no trays to carry to dining table and absolutely no spare little dishes or bowls or plates - very basic heavy mugs... but not a serious fault! The people around the estate were very helpful and friendly - no complaint there. A very good week's holiday overall, thank you .

The Bothy was beautiful and very quiet and peaceful.. Hand soaps, washing up liquid, dishwasher and washing machine tablets all provided plus plenty toilet and kitchen rolls supplied a real bonus when so far from shops. Lovely walks in Rottal Estate and further afield. Magical experience all round.

A great location for exploring Cairngorms National Park and doing a lot of walking.. The cottage was rustic on the outside but very comfortable, with all facilities and stylish decor. We loved the peace and quiet of this charming cottage. Communication with the owner and caretaker was efficient and friendly and the place is professionally managed. Perfect weather and sunshine was a bonus.

The cottage was just perfect for a quiet few days in the hills with the dog.. The bothy itself is warm and comfortable - I was worried about muddy paws leaving marks, but the whole place was very easy to keep clean. And the scenery is just lovely. I am definitely going back.
