Overlooking endless rows of vineyards and glorious untouched countryside, this villa is idyllic Dordogne at its best. Mornings begin in the garden, picking fresh fruit from the mature trees before putting together a tasty breakfast in the homespun kitchen. Feast all together on the terrace or pull up a chair in the bright dining space – we loved the exposed stone walls and terracotta floors.
Once the plates are cleared, curl up on the plump leather couches in the cosy living space with a good book. But if you fancy soaking up the balmy sunshine, make a beeline for the striped poolside loungers. After an afternoon swim and a barbecue lunch, take the hour’s drive to Périgueux to sample the city’s famous black truffle or stay local and stroll through the charming town of Bergerac, reached in twenty-six minutes by car – we couldn’t get enough of the quaint half-timber houses and traditional barges that cruise the Dordogne River.
Home truths: *The Tower wing with the third bedroom is only accessible to those staying as a group of six
*Due to the thick stone walls, the wi-fi can be patchy at times
*Please note, the pool is not heated and its temperature depends on the weather
