Jutting off the south coast of Wales, the Gower peninsula was the first area in the UK to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but it's not just the bucolic landscape that's worthy of praise – homes like this deserve a share of the credit, too.

From the front, the stone facade looks as rustic as can be, but you'll see that plenty of modern additions have been made in recent years. It's hard to pick out a standout space – the light-filling dining room with bifold doors will elevate even the most mundane of breakfasts, while the living room with the log-burning fireplace and snooker table has all the cosiness of your favourite pub. The minimalist kitchen replete with sleek surfaces is also another strong contender.

You'll also be happy to learn that the address is blessed with excellent outdoor space, too. The patio immediately through the glass doors has an alfresco dining table that's ready and waiting for summer feasts, plus there's also a well-kept lawn as well. To top it all off, there are peaceful sea views to be admired on the far horizon, too.

If this tempts you to make a trip to the seaside, you don't have too far to travel. Oxwich Bay can be reached in fifteen minutes on foot and continues along to the limestone formations of Three Cliffs Bay. Nicholaston Wood is just over five minutes' walk away too and makes for a peaceful place to wander about.
