Jane the owner is the nicest person you could wish to meet helpful and only a phone call away should you have a problem, cottage is warm and welcoming enclosed garden is big enough for dog's to have a run around just be weary of the pheasant who came to check around the bird feeder each evening, location is fantastic for visiting the black isle and surrounding area.

The cottage was spacious, particularly as there was just two of us.. It had everything you could need for a lovely break in the highlands and if we head back there, which is very likely, we’d definitely want to stay there again. It’s well located for access to all the major tourist sites, and it’s just as easy to head west as east. We explored Ullapool and Loch Gairloch from here comfortably. On our first night I opened the back door to see the stars and sat listening to an owl in the trees nearby. The stars on the last evening were spectacular, you could almost touch them.

All in all, a lovely cottage with lovely clean, bright and airy rooms. The rooms are lovely and light and comfy beds with modern kitchen and bathroom. A lovely big secure garden for our dog who loved it! The kitchen could do with some more saucepans as not enough to cook a roast dinner with it. The heating certainly did its job too as was very cold when we arrived. It could do with some up to date maps and guides on the local area too. All in all a lovely cottage with lots to do/walks around the area.

Travelled as a family, booked 3 properties all close by to each other and pet friendly.. Great for walking and not to far to travel to more built up areas. Would book again and recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet isolated retreat.

Very well equiped cottage clean and modern inside , goodbroadband if its raining .. Easy walks right outside the cottage and more challenging walks nearby We had a good week at lilac cottage and plenty walking with the dog . Booked for base for holiday to see family. Excellent and comfortable cottage in a quite area. Plenty of room and pictures do not really do justice to the size, accommodation and features of the cottage. Would certainly be high for consideration for a return visit.

Lilac cottage was an exceptional self catering holiday.. Huge garden for dogs and easy access to nearby Strathpeffer. My only critique, and it is the only thing I would change is the fridge in the cottage could be doing with being a little bit larger for food storage. Everything else. Top marks and would definitely return. Jane was friendly and accommodating. Welcome food pack a great touch.

Stayed 5 nights 22nd December to 27th December. The cottage was lovely and Jane nd husband Kenny were most welcoming. The cottage was like home so charmingly decorated in my taste and had everything one would require. Log burner was brilliant what a heat and I became an expert in that field lol. The scenery roundabout is lovely and the tranquillity so so nice. It is a good one nd half mike walk into strathpeffer fine during day but in dark as rifle walk pavement on man busy road one has to be careful and very alert. Although we walked it quite a lot . My dog loved the safe garden and walks down by the river etc . People so friendly .We had a fantastic time could have stayed longer also weather was great for that time of year, will definitely be back

Second time at Lilac Cottage.. It's a warm and comfortable cottage which is adequately equipped. It was clean and tidy on our arrival and the provision of bread, cake and other goodies was most welcome. The garden is secure and our dogs loved it. Beware the road outside the cottage, although in a 30mph area, a lot of vehicles seem to ignore it and drive past at some speed, especially those coming down the hill. The track across the road is good for dog walking and leads to a sawmill and walks through the woods, again much enjoyed by the dogs. Lilac Cottage is well located for touring the area and within walking distance of Strathpeffer, an interesting Victorian Spa.

The accommodation far exceeded my expectations and was excellent value for money.. I will definitely be returning to the cottage and it made my stay with my children all the more special. Thank you. One thing for anyone using sat nav as I did, on the last road turn right not left ( used postcode) .

The pubs / restaurants in the local village weren't accommodating for dogs which was disappointing but not the fault of the cottage..

The outside let it down plus some of the kitchen facilities were not very clean ie oven trays, utensil holder.. As the weather was so good we would have liked to have sat out in the garden but the furniture needed a complete rubbing down and varnish, not fit to eat off!

The cottage perfectly met our expectations. We found plenty of room and felt really at home during our one week stay. The facilities were comfortable and the TV/WiFi worked great. The fireplace was well prepared and on that one cold evening it generated a warm and cosy atmosphere.

Lilac Cottage was cosy, comfortable and welcoming. The position of the cottage is ideal for touring and exploring East and West Ross-Shire and there are great walks right on the doorstep. The owner was very helpful and made us feel welcome. We had a very relaxing short break and would be very happy to return to the cottage in the future.

The cottage was cosy and snug with a large garden for the dogs, and the birds kept us entertained over breakfast, so much so we had to buy a supply of nuts for them. Lilac Cottage is situated close enough to most attractions in the area with a large area of off road parking.

Fantastic cottage, really well decorated and very comfortable. The garden was great for the dogs. during the brief spells we sat outside. It's a very peaceful spot but not far from so much beautiful mountains, coast and forests. Would highly recommend, best cottage we've stayed in!
