Fantastic cottage and really lovely owners.. We could have sat in front of those windows watching the sea all day if we didn’t have the beautiful island to explore!

A stunning cottage right on the shore line so lovely.. we would reccomend it to everyone

House was fabulous.. Amazing views from the conservatory. Large enclosed garden perfect for our Labrador. Kitchen fully equip with everything we needed. Not cold enough to light the fire but it was all set up ready to go. Shower was lovely and hot even with four of us going in one after the other. Access to the beach for exploring straight from the garden. Covid restrictions on the island meant limited access to take away food but shops near house and Portree so not an issue. Enjoyed our few days in Skye.

We had a fantastic week in Skye.. The house was perfect. Really spacious, incredible views as good or better than expected from the pictures. Martin, the owner, was brilliant. He was really friendly and gave us a really warm welcome. We will definitely be back. The house is great and location is perfect.

December 2019
Great welcome from owners with log fire going and home baking still warm.. The cottage was very clean and beds were comfortable. Seating four by the fire in the evening did require moving a chair from the conservatory back and forwards each day as there is only 3 adult seats on the sofa. The bathroom does have restricted height under the shower but was not a problem for us with none of us being 6ft. Fenced garden is large with fantastic views but if you had a small dog it could slip under the bottom rail of the fence onto the beach. Overall the cottage is very much as described.

After a scenic journey through the most stunning country side.. We arrived at the cottage and were delighted to see that the log burner was already lit. The views from the cottage were amazing and included seals bathing in the bay. Not forgetting the homemade lemon drizzle cake and shortbread.

This fabulous holiday cottage undersells itself! The owner was really helpful and when we arrived late and well after dark after a rain drenched (but still spectacular) drive through the Highlands the cottage was unlocked, the lights were on, there was music playing, the central heating all on and a fantastic wood fire roaring in the log burner in the kitchen - it was so thoughtful, warm and welcoming and topped off by the most delicious homemade shortbread and lemon drizzle cake - what a lovely touch. That feeling of being at home, snug and warm whatever the Skye weather threw at us lasted the whole holiday. We have stayed at dozens of cottages but this has to be one of the best. Really clean, well equipped and warm. The kitchen is snug and work space small but has everything you need and with the deep soft sofa and the wood burner in the same room, the cook was never on their own! The views from the conservatory are fantastic, the loch is in touching distance. Unwind watching the ferries and the fishing boats go by and the endlessly changing sky and lighting on the sea and the distant peninsulas from sunrise to sunset and moonrise over the water too - the whole place had our usual 'get up and go' group very happy to take life a lot slower. Seabirds, birds of prey, seals all to be seen from the door; a blessedly dog proof garden for our two collies to chase balls and play (but who also found staring out of the conservatory endlessly entertaining); no passing traffic - the only time we were overlooked was when the sheep came down off the headland to look through the fence. The Quirang is only minutes away on awesome single track roads, down to the Cuillins less than an hour. We left feeling thoroughly de-stressed and regenerated. The only word of warning - having a shower in the limited headroom when you are 6'3" tall is challenging - but did we care? - not at all! Really hope we can come back one day and would not now ever stay anywhere else on Skye. Thank you to everyone involved :) Also got to add a quick shout out to the fantastic local shop in the village 'Rankins' it genuinely has everything you can possibly need from the most basic tins to creative vegan foodstuffs, lots of environmentally aware products, fresh veg, frozen foods, wide range of drinks, toiletries, kitchen ware, hardware, gifts, post office - the place was a tardis for how much it fitted in to it's small footprint - it makes staying in Uig an absolute doddle and we had no need for any longer journeys to shops

August 2019
We absolutely loved staying here. That big window is literally steps away from the loch edge and is the perfect place to sit, enjoy the view, watch the weather, whatever the weather may be, watch the boats and the birds. It feels so remote, so far away from real life. On a practical angle the shower was fabulous, powerful and hot and on demand, but there is limited headroom for tall people in the shower as it is under a roof slope. The kitchen and living room are one room which was fine, the log burner is super hot and warmed us up nicely after a wet drizzly walk. Rooms were clean, all bedrooms looked out over loch. The owner was very kind and brought some lemon cake and shortbread around for us.. very much appreciated. Great place for dogs and younger children as garden is enclosed.

An excellent holiday home, even better in real life than the pictures! The views from cottage were fantastic and the cottage itself was perfect, everything we needed was provided. The owners even left us some homemade shortbread and cake on arrival. Thank you very much!

A lovely, comfortable house on the edge of the small village meant that we had easy access to amenities but with a very quiet and private base right on the shoreline.. It was so welcoming to arrive to a warm house with music on and a delicious selection of home baking. Thank you Martin

November 2018
Lovely welcome from the owners with some shortbread and a lemon drizzle cake, they live next door but didn't bother us all week unless we approached them.. The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and very quiet being on the end of small road through the village. View from the conservatory was absolutely beautiful and the garden was excellent for our terrier to exercise on. A few steps from the pub, local shop, petrol station and the Isle of Skye brewery shop, a lovely week had by all.

We arrived on Sat 17th Nov to an extremely cosy and warm cottage, from the minute we arrived the owners were extremely helpful and welcoming bringing round cake and the most amazing shortbread, the cottage itself was beautiful and very clean we thoroughly enjoyed the whole stay and the settings were perfect for a nice relaxing break, stunning views everyday as well as beautiful weather to boot the dogs had a big garden to run around in and also enjoyed themselves, I would highly recommend this cottage for a cosy peaceful break, thank you Martin and Lisa for being the perfect hosts and making our holiday so special we will definitely be back again..

We stayed at Jubilee cottage (family of four + grandparents) in May half term and had an absolutely amazing time. We were blessed with wall to wall sunshine from start to finish and it couldn't have been more idyllic. Lots to do on the Trotternish peninsula and the fantastic weather meant we were able to make the most of it. Really enjoyed evenings spent looking out across the bay at the various birds, a pod of porpoise, fishing boats, seals. The owners couldn't have been more pleasant, or helpful and we really enjoyed their hospitality (including cakes & shortbread)! Quite stunning and we hope to return at some stage.

Lovely cottage.. lovely guests. amazing location. private enough. stunning views. two comfortable beds in twin room. electronics not always working. could be more clean ( dog hairs). village is ok, right size, and in a nice part of the island. supermarket and most amenities in portree.

June 2018
Jubilee Cottage in Uig is simply stunning.. We had a week there and were blessed with wall to wall sunshine which allowed us to not only make the best use of the cottage but also the surrounding area which is quite beautiful and great for exploring. There were very few midges about when we were there (end of May, early June) as the sea breeze kept them away. Having said that, even when there was no breeze we noticed very few, so if that is something you are worried about (I was) then it wasn't a problem for us. In all honesty, the pictures don't do the cottage or its location full justice. Its located at the end of a road, so no passing traffic and almost no one walking past on the beach. It's perfectly quiet with the only passing traffic (which is very little) being the boats out in the bay. The ferry only docks 3 times a day and is well out in the bay so not intrusive in any way. in fact we loved watching them. We saw plenty of wildlife looking out of the window, including many birds fishing in the bay, seals and a pod of porpoises (or dolphins). Make sure you pack a pair (or two) of binoculars as our evenings consisted of sitting looking out to sea, seeing what we could spot. We've got two kids and a dog who were free to roam with no problems at all, with them all loving the beach. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating and helped with recommendations on where to visit, but weren't intrusive at all (they live next door). All in all, I can't recommend it highly enough and I'd like to think we'll revisit at some stage. Its a very relaxing cottage in a stunning location, which I can't fault in any way. We loved it and were sad to leave. Fantastic - book now!

March 2018
This cottage is absolutely Lovely and situated right on the Bay at Uig, there are lovely views across the bay and if you are lucky you may see the seals as they go by.. The owners should be proud of the cottage and facilities provided, the garden is enclosed and our dogs loved running around enjoying the freedom, The conservatory is a great place to sit and relax any time of the day, on a night if there is a clear sky just turn the lights off and watch the stars. If you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere then this cottage has it and I would recommend it highly.

There is a term "exceeding expectations" is a totally inadequate term when describing Jubilee Cottage. This extremely spacious cottage is perfect in every way. A dream location. Stunning views. Spacious and comfortable. Every amenity you could ever need. And that's without mentioning the owner whose kind attention and hospitality are second to none. This property would always be number one with us for a holiday in the north of this majestic and magical Isle. Thank you would never be enough but I'll say it anyway! Haste ye back!

Location! Location! Location! It was just perfect. Peaceful, clean and well equipped - ice cold chill out time. There were lots of places to visit, from a stunning Coral Beach to Wildlife to die for. Our first golden eagle entertained us for 15 minutes. A cottage not to miss!

Booked a week stay in March with the family and had the most amazing time!!! Our four legged family members had a great time too exploring all the island had to offer. We were extremely lucky with the weather whenever we ventured out to explore and the cottage was a great place to retreat to if the weather turned. The cottage couldn't be faulted at all, it is exactly as shown in the photos so we weren't disappointed. The owners were close by in case you had any issues but left you to do your own thing. We would definitely look to stay again

A pleasant "get away from it all" for a few days. Although the weather wasn't on our side when we visited, it didn't hamper our enjoyment of the surrounding area during the days before returning to the warmth of the log burner and watching the wild weather batter the coast from the comfort of perfect unobstructed armchair view. Would definitely visit again.

In 28 years of self catering holidays, I have to say that this has to be the best and most comfortable cottage we have ever stayed in. Huge wood burner that pumped out heat on the coldest night of the year so far and the beautiful views from the conservatory which also fascinated the dog! Helpful and charming owners too.

October 2014
Absolutely beautiful cottage! We travelled up from Yorkshire to the cottage and in total there was 3 adults, 2 kids, 1 baby and a dog. Plenty of room for everyone! The cottage has three good size bedrooms (two doubles and 1 twin) one double located downstairs. The kitchen is clean and modern and comes with various equipment (microwave, toaster, large fridge freezer, slow cooker, george forman grill, pirex dishes, fan oven and grill) as well as kitchen roll, toilet roll, dog bowls, hand blender, foil, washing machine and a variety of cups and glasses. There is also a tea pot! The log fire is amazing! heats the whole house. We also didn't have any issues with hot water or central heating. We met with Martin the owner who had set up the baby gate and fire guard as well as left us home made shortbread and lemon cake!! Amazing touches! The sun room has a large dining table and lounge chairs with foot rests. To the side of the sun room is a downstairs loo. I would say there is enough parking for about 3/4 cars. You can leave them outside the area, or do what we did, and keep them in side the gates at the side of the house. The sea was sometimes choppy but never came any where near the house. We arrived in autumn when there was a lot of wind and rain! Plenty of room for the kids to play outside and there are a selection of games, dvds and books. We took a HDMI cable for the TV which we didn't use, but is compatible with the TV. There is also a DVD player. The rooms are nice and spacious. The double rooms have a wardrobe with coat hangers and two large drawers. The twin room has two sets of large chest of drawers. The curtains are thick and block out the light, and all the beds have side tables, lamps and the beds are very comfy with two pillows each. The Wifi is pretty decent. We are used to fast fibre optic which this is not, but this BT broadband is very good and not too different to normal sky broadband. We were able to stream and download no problems. Very beautiful place and would highly recommend it! I would also recommend a trip to coral beach which is about a 45 minute drive.

The location of the cottage was superb, it was well furnished and very comfortable, particularly when we lit the log burner a few evenings (very cosy). The owners were next-door and were in fact very helpful without being intrusive. Overall it was a delightful cottage. I would recommend this cottage to anybody that appreciates peace, quiet and solitude in stunning scenery.

The situation of the cottage is outstanding. We loved the wonderful views from the sun room and spent most of our time in there. It was a perfect location for relaxing, walking and sightseeing. The owners were very welcoming to us and our dogs.

May 2014
We stayed for a week here in May 2014 and were delighted with our choice. We saw the cottage straight away in the bay from the main road, very distinctive as it is the only property with a red roof. The location is stunning, right beside the loch shore and the secure garden was a bonus for the dogs. The cottage has a sun room which is perfect for relaxing and looking over the bay. The cottage is very well equipped and has a very effective woodburning stove. The owners were helpful and welcoming. Two wonderful walks are the Quaraing and the Old Man of Storr. I would also recommend a wildlife tour. Potentially on Skye you can see golden eagles, otters, whales and porpoise, but you need to know where to look. We visited Dunvegan Castle, the Talisker Distillery and the heritage museum at Kilmuir. A birthday lunch at the Three Chimneys at Colbost was very special.
Mrs Keatings
April 2014
The owners were helpful and kind and struck exactly the right balance between being available and giving us space. The view from the cottage was superb and the location of the property itself was perfect.

January 2014
This was my 7th visit to Skye - and the best cottage I have ever stayed in. The location was stunning and the cottage itself was comfortable, warm, and well equipped. The owner was friendly and helpful. My son and I have had the most marvellous week and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend both Jubilee Cottage and Sykes Cottages to friends for future bookings. Thank you all so very much.

January 2014
Locally ayed here for a week in January to get away from the humdrum of modern life. The cottage was supremly clean and modernised for a comfortable stay. The woodburner was a fantastic touch, as was the incredible view from the conservatory. Locally there was a good restaurant which did great food and great whisky. We saw an osprey, lots of hooded crows and so many amazing sunsets from the comfort of the warm house. Certainly going to rebook as soon as we can as it made such a perfect base for exploring Skye.
Mrs Harty
November 2013
We had a wonderful break, very peaceful and relaxing. After the stunning journey over the mountains to get to Jubilee cottage our host had the fire going in readiness for our arrival, so we instantly felt at home. Our sons loved Uig and the surrounding area, and loved storm watching. Try the whisky of the week at the post office. Perfect!

The location of the property is stunning, the photographs don't quite do it justice. Just feet away from the sea - amazing. We have 2 dogs and to know that they were secure in the garden was a real bonus.

May 2013
Everything about this place is fab, even lighting the wood burning stove is no problem. The location is right on the shore and the sea breeze and sounds are simply wonderful. There are three good size bedrooms one of which is downstairs. Bathroom and toilet upstairs and also a toilet downstairs. Shower over bath is very good and bathroom is well appointed and clean. The kitchen is clean, modern and well appointed with plenty of storage space for groceries. The stove is set on the gable end of the kitchen and belts out the heat, very nice if you are prone to feeling cold, the floor in this area is laminate so very easy to clean. The lean-to conservatory has large glass panels/door and sky-lights which allow fabulous views out to sea not to mention the abundant sea bird life. The floor here is tiled so again, easy to clean. The whole of the property is well maintained and very functional for people who like the out-door life. It is the end property on the shore-line and has a large garden and fore court area with ample parking and secure gate. Also pet friendly and when I visited, I brought my two border collies who loved the freedom that this property has to offer. This cottage is in a perfect spot in which to explore Skye and, if you are inclined to visit the other islands, the ferry terminal is just two hundred yards away. The owners are very nice and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and are very knowledgeable about the area/things to see and do. My wife and I did do a lot of research before booking Jubilee Cottage and we are very glad we picked this little gem. We plan to go back to Skye next year and will definitely return to Jubilee Cottage.

February 2013
The cottage is beautiful and is set in an ideal spot overlooking the Loch. Sitting in the 'conservatory' in the evenings with its unspoilt views is an abiding memory. Uig is a small friendly village, with Jubilee cottage being effectively the last building. Only a short walk away is the ferry landing and shop, bar and restaurant. Plus a shop, hardware store/garage, brewery, pottery and tea shop are across the road from the ferry. The post office in the village also has lots to offer.

February 2013
This cottage is in a stunning location, right on the front. From a gate in the garden you can walk out onto the waterfront (although it is a bit rocky). The sun lounge is a real bonus, you can sit out there with binoculars and a glass of wine looking for wildlife. we saw plenty of heron, eider ducks and many small diving birds. It was great fun learning how to get to grips with the log burning stove which really throws out the heat. The owner, Martin, is really helpful and will help you with anything you're not sure of. There is a second loo which isn't mentioned in the brochure, and also although the centre of Uig may be a mile or so away, there is a pub and useful general shop a couple of hundred yards away. The house was lovely and well equipped. The wood burner is a lovely addition and was so warm that even in October we had the windows open! The owners were lovely and helpful. The house is in a very private space with an enclosed garden which was great for the kids. Uig is a lovely quiet port and the Isle of Skye is an absolute delight with very friendly people. We will be returning.

Sitting having breakfast, looking out over the water watching the sea birds dive for fish, scanning our eyes to the field below the cliff edge taking in the wonder of young eaglets finding their wings.Pure magic. Coming home after a day exploring Gods Island to sit round a log fire, cosy, comfortable and then to sink in luxurious beds to arise to more wonders of Skye. All this was made possible by our host, who kept us stocked with logs, kindness and friendship. The best holiday cottage ever and if the owner ever considers selling we would make our home in this lovely cottage

We had a very happy holiday in Jubilee Cottage which is a very well equipped, recently modernised property. The quiet waterfront location is so relaxing yet there is a good restautant/bar two minutes walk away. This is an ideal property to explore Skye from with a dog secure garden.
