Higgins Lodge in Templeboy, Sligo

We were very excited when we found Higgins Lodge for our week in the Sligo area as we didn’t feel hotel rooms could cater for our needs. It turned out to be an excellent choice, and we stayed there for a week in July 2019. The owners – Reuben and Jackie - live in the farmhouse next door and despite their busy schedule, were available to answer queries about the house, and the tourist haunts of the area. The rooms were all comfortable with en suite, living room and kitchen well equipped with all necessities. Choosing self catering allowed for hanging out in the mornings over breakfast in our PJs, before going out for the day to explore the area. The sea just opposite for long walks, a short drive into the town of Sligo, a drive along the coast road filled with views that are magnificent, and a nearby Pub/restaurant to spend the evenings if one wants to have a drink with the locals. Higgins Lodge is a paradise for families because of the safe open space for children with plenty to do, and it is a great place for a group who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend Higgins Lodge. Special thanks to Jackie and Reuben from us all.

Stayed here with Girlfriends and it was ideal, loved the en suites, so private for Ladies over 60. we enjoyed cooking together and eating out locally at Beach Bar was special and in Enniscrone close by. Lovely walks to the beach and lovely mountains in the background. Highly for family or friends getting together for a break, so much nicer than a hotel as we chatted in the small hours. Plenty to see and do in this area and locals towns have culture and entertainment.Photos are realistic and there is plenty of space with large rooms. Great Value.

Jackie and Reuben were wonderful hosts for our stay at Higgins Lodge May 2017! The house was perfect for our group. The views of the ocean and sunsets were amazing! We loved the private walks to the creek and up to the castle ruins on the property! The nearby beach and surfing were a highlight as well. The Beach Bar is close by for lunch or dinner, and Andy was wonderful with our surfboard rentals. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet country setting and perfect location for day trips out or exploring the little country roads all around. You never know where you will find the next stunning view! We absolutely loved our vacation here, and Higgins Lodge was the perfect home for our group. Don't pass up this gem!
