Picture this: a beautiful Costwolds cottage with roses round the door and idyllic views over the neighbouring countryside. Set over three floors, this historic home retains heaps of character, with exposed stone walls and ancient wood beams, alongside contemporary alterations like a sparkling new kitchen and a glass panel staircase. Cosy and smartly furnished, the living room's feature fireplace has a log burner for warming up on winter evenings and leads through to a stylish dining space with log storage built into the wall. Equipped with everything you could need to cook at home, the kitchen is lit by a huge ceiling lantern and a big window. Bedrooms are classic country style and we particularly love the freestanding bathtub in the main bathroom and the pretty bedroom on the top floor. The house shares a rear courtyard with some neighbouring properties but a large, private garden lies across the lane to the front.
Home truths: *The garden is directly opposite the cottage, across the lane – please don't leave children or dogs there unsupervised as it is not fully secure
*You'll have parking for two cars but it's 25m up the lane – you can unload right outside if you're quick
*Logs and kindling are provided for the fire
*One of the king-size beds can be split into two singles if required
*There's a trundle under the single bed suitable for a child
*There are electric radiators and portable oil-filled radiators here, as well as the fireplace
*The stairs up to the attic bedroom don't have a handrail
*A travel cot and high chair are provided
*There's a private entrance
