Set within the grounds of a twenty-two-acre Cossington Park estate, you’ll find this charming Victorian cottage. Being one of only two houses on the grounds, this is a countryside hideaway like no other.

Inside, the antiques, period features and impressive collection of books allude to the home's age, although an interior designer has recently been behind a renovation that's added some modern touches and bursts of colour. We particularly love the calm, elegant bedrooms and spacious kitchen with panoramic windows opening out onto a private courtyard garden. The games room and ping pong table should keep the kids (and all you big kids) happy, too.

Outside, there’s a courtyard vegetable garden that guests are welcome to pick from (just check with the head gardener first), as well as ancient woodlands and ponds to explore. If you're in an active mood, you can play croquet or badminton on the main lawn, or there's also a playground for kids to burn off some steam.

For day trips, the mystical town of Glastonbury can be reached in just under twenty-five minutes in the car. Alternatively, it takes half an hour to head for the coast at Bridgwater Bay, where you can spend a whole day exploring the wild beaches.
