Edinburgh is a city built for walking. Don your comfiest shoes and climb the hills of New Town, surrounded by stunning Georgian architecture, then wander down the cobbled streets that wind around the Mound and into the Old Town, home of the majestic Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. Historic pubs, trendy eateries and local shops are around every corner – and this chic studio flat is situated on one of the prettiest crescents in town. Compact but comfortable, there's enough space for two to unwind and make themselves at home following an afternoon exploring the city. The design is simple, but it's cosy. Rustle up a light dinner in the kitchen, then sit down and enjoy your meal in the charming window seat. The sleek rainfall shower in the bathroom is an added bonus, but our favourite spot has to be the coveted outdoor patio. It may be tiny, but it's the perfect place to savour a cup of coffee on sunny mornings or a glass of scotch on summer evenings.

*You'll have to walk down a winding stone staircase to reach the private entrance, as this apartment is below street level
*It's a studio apartment, so the living space and bedroom are all in one – there is a separate kitchen
*The small patio at the front of the home faces the street – it's not a very busy road, but you may hear some traffic noise
*There's no parking provided, so instead of driving, pack comfortable shoes – all of Edinburgh's main attractions and train stations are within walking distance, including Edinburgh Castle, Old Town and the Royal Mile
*The dining table is quite small so we wouldn't recommend working remotely at this flat
*There are quiet hours between 10pm and 9am
