Church View Cottage in Dumfries , Dumfries and Galloway

Just returned from a short break at Church View Cottage. The cottage is ideally situated and just a short walk to all the amenities Moffat has to offer. The cottage has everything you need for a self catering holiday and is very clean and well kept. The area is very dog friendly with plenty of walks on your doorstep. There is a large field for walking your dog just down by the river which is round the corner from the cottage. A lovely relaxing break.

We have just returned from our 2nd visit to this fabulous little cottage and already thinking about our next stay. It is spotlessly clean and so warm and cosy. The cottage has everything you need to ensure an enjoyable stay. Andy, the owner, messaged us on the evening of arrival to check if we needed anything or had any questions - this was a lovely gesture, more so with it being our second visit. You are so central to all amenities in this beautiful picturesque little town, and with no passing traffic it is so quiet and very easy to totally relax. We found more amazing walks through and around Moffat. You're only 10 miles from Great Mares tail, a great walk up to Loch Skeen which has spectacular views. We can highly recommend this cottage.

A lovely cosy cottage, and in a great location, it was literally a 2 minute walk to the main street with pubs, cafe's and shops. Although it was so close to the centre it was very quiet and peaceful, no traffic noise or lots of passers by. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. There was a welcome basket with whisky and some Moffat toffee, even treats for our dog, which was really thoughtful. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend staying here.

Stayed here for school holiday week in October. An absolutely beautiful,comfortable and cosy cottage and kept to an amazing standard. Absolutely everything you need is there and more. In the heart of Moffat with everything literally on the doorstep. Lots of beautiful walks to enjoy. This is one of the best cottages we have had the fortune to stay at. The pictures don't do it justice. We visited for 2 nights with our dog at a time where it was almost impossible to find a property at a decent price. The property sits on an idilic ally way looking over the stunning church. The whole cottage was spotless to the point I was convinced we were the first visitors to stay after a major refurbishment. All the household contents are brand new and in an exceptionally clean condition. For me the stove was the best feature and just made the whole place cosy and warm. Very easy to light and control. Did not need to use the hive heating once. The Retro GPO telephone was a nice touch, and couldn't help but call it to hear the ringer. Beds were very comfortable and although less than half a minute from the busy and beautiful main Street of the town, there was no traffic noise whatsoever. The town itself is full of places for food, drinks and general shopping as well as a few wee quirky shops that you just don't see often. There are Plenty of relaxing walks for the dog just a stones throw from the cottage and the stunning gray mare's tail nature reserve just a 20 minute scenic drive. We have already booked the cottage for new year. Highly recommended.

We have just come back from a weekend in Church View and what a lovely place it was. So much so, we have booked to go back in winter. Andy had thought of everything and provided us with a lot of local information. The location is perfect and the bed is very comfy indeed. Moffat itself was lovely and we felt very welcomed by the locals. We can't wait to visit again with family.

Stayed for a week in Church View Cottage with our 12 yr old daughter and 17 week old pup. Superb facilities and very tasteful decor. Lovely extras like hairdryers.. quality linen.. fab washer/dryer.. wifi and quality bathrooms. Beds super comfy too! Moffat is lovely and we visited most pubs/restaurants which were all very good. Our dog loved it and Moffat is very dog friendly. We will be back! X
