When it comes to things to do and see in the local area, the International Sports Village is ten minutes' walk around the corner and has a huge range of high-quality facilities, including an ice rink, swimming pool and white water rafting course. For something a little less hi-octane, the Cardiff Bay Trail can be reached nearby and takes walkers through parks and the wetland reserve.
