A lot of money for what it is !

Very nice cottage, clean and comfortable.. We enjoyed our 2 nights stay and it’s only about an hour drive from the amazing Quiraing mountains! The only improvement would be to replace the washer/dryer because you can barely dry your clothes with 1/4 load maximum. But that’s a small detail, everything else was just great.

We enjoyed every minute! Weather was good, didn't rain the whole week, temperature went up to 14℃. Quiet place, lovely people! Plenty of places to visit in a week! The cottage was spacious, clean, good view and with loads of facilities. Couldn't ask for more! Thank you for the lovely stay!

This is a lovely cottage which is well equipped and warm.. The only adverse comment I would make is that more attention to detail regarding cleaning of some kitchen utensils - this would not stop me from booking the cottage again. We were quite surprised at how remote it was and after thinking that we had made a mistake we had the most fantastic week there. It was a different holiday as we are not what I would call walkers but even if you are not a "walker" there are some lovely easy walks to do. The cottage is located on a single track road, however, every road user we came across was polite regarding stopping in the passing places - of which there are many. You will enjoy the big dark skies and wonderful views across to the Outer Hebrides and spectacular sunsets. We were blessed with lovely sunny days and on one of our walks we spotted two white tailed sea eagles - fantastic..

The cottage was clean and comfortable.. It was the view from the lounge window that kept us spellbound. Watching the changing light over the sea and the ever- changing cloud formations was fascinating. The newborn lambs in field opposite kept us entertained and amused. We didn't need to watch any tv! And then, of course, there were the beautiful sunsets! It was a perfect spot! We loved it.

It was freezing cold, and the fuel burner wouldn't stay lit.. The shower didn't get hot, so we couldn't use it. The hot tap in the bathroom was very difficult to turn off. But overall we were happy with the cottage. It wouldn't put me off using Sykes cottages again.

Very clean and spacious bungalow. Lovely views. Comfortable beds. Quiet and remote location. No starter pack of fuel as promised by Sykes. Three leaking/ dripping taps that were almost impossible to turn off.

Complete lies and deception. The site has an attractive offer for value, and when booking a cottage the price is doubled.

The taps were a little difficult to shut completely and we could not get the cooker hood to work.. Otherwise a simple, comfortable cottage in an out of the way location, perfect for a little RnR away from the hustle and bustle of London.

I love the Waternish area of Skye as it's much less busy than other areas but is just as beautiful with loads to do. The cottage is easy to find, well equipped and has fabulous views across to the Outer Hebrides. The TV signal was patchy, as was mobile reception (on EE) but there's wifi and I enjoyed the peace! Despite poor weather, I saw the northern lights on my first night (even in April), enjoyed the (rather boggy) walk to Waternish lighthouse and did trips with Wild Skye Boat Trips from Carbost and Isle of Skye Wildlife Tours from Portree, both highly recommended - see my reviews. Brae Fasach Gallery up the road (just by SkyeSkyns) is worth a visit for the artwork, a cup of tea and a natter with Ian who runs it. Will definitely come back to the cottage, hopefully in better weather when I can take advantage of the picnic bench outside.
